Approvals, Verifications & Accreditations

Horizon Theological Institute is a new school, and has already received verification from the State of California Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education that it qualifies as a “Religious Exempt” institution, pursuant to California Education Code Section 94739 (b) (6).

The procedure for accreditation of new schools takes a requisite period of time. As such, HTI seeks accreditation from two major accrediting bodies pertinent to our degree programs, the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). HTI will be permitted to apply for accreditation upon the graduation of our first class of students.
